“Lassie! Come back! We’re note allowed to go down there!”
Timmy tried to stop his golden collie’s headlong rush down the hill to the Brunson farm. But Lassie smelled trouble – heard it, too, in the cries of a frightened old man. And trouble was what she found – in Forbidden Valley.
First there was the question of who the old man was. Timmy knew that there was an escaped convict hiding out in the neighborhood, and he knew that the old man was terribly afraid of being discovered. Then, with the arrival of the Brunson family at the farm, came more problems. There was Mr. Brunson, who knew little about farming. There was Mrs. Brunson, who wanted to return to the city, and Letty who wanted to stay on the farm forever. Timmy and Lassie were involved in all the troubles in Forbidden Valley – especially when Letty disappeared. Before it was over the big collie was to save two lives, and win the title of “Lassie, the Bravest Ever!”
